Work Modes
Cinema Mode
Full-screen preview with subtitles in real-world conditions.
Cinema mode displays the video in full screen with subtitles overlaid, exactly as a viewer would see them. The subtitle list and the timeline disappear to give all the space to the picture.
Activating cinema mode
- From the toolbar: click the toggle icon (expansion arrows)
- On trackpad: a pinch-out gesture on the video player
A second pinch-out from cinema mode enters true full screen. Conversely, a pinch-in gesture progressively returns to cinema mode and then to the normal view.
Overlay controls
To avoid cluttering the view, the controls (toolbar, transport bar, progress bar) hide automatically after a few seconds of inactivity. A simple mouse movement brings them back.
The progress bar at the bottom of the screen lets you navigate quickly through the video by clicking or dragging.
Esc exits cinema mode and returns to the editing interface.
Use cases
- Final approval -- verify that subtitle rendering looks right under real conditions before delivery
- Client presentation -- show the result to a director or producer without the editing interface
- Comfort proofreading -- review subtitles in an immersive context to catch details that escape notice in edit mode
