General settings
Playback, interface, trackpad, and default profile options.
The General tab contains settings that affect the overall behavior of the application.
Playback
| Option | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Seek on select | Moves the playhead to the selected subtitle | Off |
| Prompter | Enables automatic scrolling of the list during playback | On |
| Auto-fit | Automatically applies corrections when a subtitle is deselected | Off |
| Return to start | Returns the playhead to its initial position when playback stops | On |
These options define the defaults for new projects. They can be temporarily changed per project via the transport bar.
Interface
| Option | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Minimap | Displays the overview above the timeline | On |
| Sections bar | Displays the progress tracking bar | Off |
| Tooltips | Shows descriptions when hovering over controls | On |
Trackpad
The haptic feedback setting controls the vibration intensity felt when snapping to scene cuts:
- Off — no tactile feedback
- Light — subtle vibration (default)
- Strong — more pronounced vibration
Haptic feedback requires a Force Touch trackpad (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Magic Trackpad). On Macs without a compatible trackpad, this setting has no effect.
Default profile
The default standards profile determines which rule set is applied to new projects. The available profiles (ATAA Cinema, Netflix, or a custom profile) are detailed in the Validation and standards chapter.
Interface scale
To adapt the interface size to your preferences or screen resolution, a slider lets you adjust the scale from 85% to 120%. The default value is 100%.
